Time Warner Cable has massive Internet outages across the Midwest

Thousands of Time Warner Cable Internet users were knocked offline Monday evening, with the majority of issues reported in Ohio and northern Kentucky.

At its peak, more than 16,000 Time Warner Cable customers were reporting outages with their services. As of Tuesday at 4 p.m., reports are citing Dayton and Columbus, as well as Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago as still having problems with service.

Time Warner Cable is reporting most customers should be able to reboot equipment to restore internet and cable.

Users began reporting problems around 9 p.m. Monday evening and the cause of the outage was not immediately known.

Time Warner responded directly to customers via social media, including Facebook and Twitter.
