The Partnerships to Improve Community Health Grant in coordination with the Activate Allen County coalition continues to promote tobacco free workplaces and have been working with local workplaces to implement tobacco free campus policy. Our newest workplace to partner with us to promote an environment of clean air is The Meeting Place on Market.
The Meeting Place has implemented a tobacco free campus policy and is protecting their customers from second hand smoke. As the original location for our Active Menu Challenge, The Meeting Place has been a strong partner for some time now and with the addition of a tobacco free campus policy, it is clear that the restaurant cares about the health and wellness of the Lima community.
Jennifer Brogee, owner at The Meeting Place on Market confirms this positive partnership. “We have enjoyed working with Activate Allen County throughout these last few years. We do want to provide quality, nutritious food within a family friendly environment and working with Activate Allen County has added to that commitment. Through the Active Menu Challenge and policy work for a tobacco free environment, we have increased the number of healthy menu options and have become a tobacco free workplace/restaurant as well.”
We encourage everyone to go and check out the great food and tobacco free environment at The Meeting Place on Market. They are located at 220 W. Market St. and you can find their menu, hours and other information at themeetingplaceonmarket.com.
We appreciate their partnership and thank them for their support of Activate Allen County and for their support of Allen County and the health of our residents here.
