LIMA – Desks, chairs, display cases, small card catalogs, vintage furniture, framed art and more are available at Lima Public Library’s Surplus Furniture +More sale on Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at the main library. The sale will take place in the library’s garage and back parking lot.

image001Chairs, end tables, and a variety of other Heywood-Wakefield furniture pieces are included in the sale. The pieces were purchased new and used to furnish the library prior to its opening in 1960. Several pieces were in use as recently as last year. “We have some old pictures of the library showing the Heywood-Wakefield pieces in their original locations,” said Karen Sommer, director of public relations, “and we’ll have them available for people to look at during the sale.”

An upright piano, a few industrial-looking pieces, a beautiful, old bookcase from Hoover-Bond Furniture Company, vintage lamps, cast iron Kewanee Boiler doors, old newspaper racks and sticks, wood step stools, desk chairs, display cases and units, an old air compressor, and even a pile of bricks are included in the sale. Plus, more.

Most items will be marked for quick “pay & go” sales, while some items will be sold by silent auction.
Everything is being sold in ‘as-is” condition, and all sales are final. The library will accept cash and bank cards for payment.
