Lima Public Library Offering Free One-on-One Resume Assistance: Make an Appointment with a Librarian
LIMA – If you need a resume but aren’t handy with a computer, you can now book an appointment with a librarian for some free one-on-one assistance.
Lima Public Library librarians know how hard it can be to create a new resume, especially for people who aren’t comfortable with computers. Using resume writing software, librarians work with individuals to prepare a professional looking resume. The service is free, but an appointment is required.
Appointment forms are available at the main library’s Ask Here desk. The top part of the form lists all the information that the individual will need to bring to the appointment: contact information (name, address, phone, email); education (school name(s), city/state, years attended, degree); work history for last three jobs (name of company, employment dates, company location, position title, responsibility/duties); awards, achievements or special skills. The bottom part of the form (name, best hours for an appointment, etc.) should be completed and turned in at the Ask Here desk.
Individuals should also bring a flash drive and/or login information for their email account to their appointment so that the document can be saved.
