LIMA – Lima Central Catholic High School will induct Francis A. Sliemers, Robert “Bo” Contini, James E. Bourk, and David Wellmeier into the 2016 Hall of Fame on Friday January 8, 2016.
The dinner and awards dinner will be held in the Old Gym at LCC beginning at 5:30. Following the dinner the newest members of the LCC Hall of Fame will be honored at halftime during the LCC basketball game. A reception will follow at the K of C Hall.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame dinner are $12 available in the Business Office at LCC. The event is open to the public.

Francis A. Sliemers for professional achievement
Francis A. “Jack” Sliemers is a 1947 graduate of St. Gerard High School. He is known world-wide for his contributions to Polymer research.
During his 31 year tenure at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Sliemers led project research in the areas of polymer chemistry, polymer characterization and polymeric materials in solar energy and specialized electrical applications.
Sliemers is a member of the American Chemical Society and wrote more than 40 technical papers and authored or co-authored several U.S. and foreign patents.
He holds mat B.S., in Physical Science for Notre Dame and an M.S. in Physical Chemistry from The Ohio State University.
He married the former Rose Alma Wilcox and has 8 children , 24 grand children and 1 great grandchild.
Robert “Bo” Contini for service to LCC
He was instrumental in campaigning for and completing the LCC Sports Field and Bo’s Hawthorne Hills was the home course for the LCC golf team.
He spent hours instructing hundreds of students on how to improve their game and quietly donated golf equipment to kids who had not other means to obtain it.
Bo is a dedicated member of CIAO and its pasta dinner committee which has provided college scholarships to many LCC students.
Father Herr considered Bo and his wife Eileen dear friends and he always knew that he could count on Bo’s support and loyalty. All of Bo’s 5 children are Lima Central Catholic graduates.
James E. Bourk for community service
Following graduation Jim joined the United States Air Force and served until 1955.
He retired in 1991 from Teledyne and in 1992 joined the City of Lima as Public Works Director. In that position Jim was active with the city’s Star Spangled Spectacular, Member of the Civic Center Board and past president of the Board of Trustees.
In 2011 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Civic Center Board.
Jim is a life long member of St. Rose Catholic Church, serves on the finance committee and is a recipient of the St. Rose Volunteer of the Year Award. He has also received the Centenary Award for Outstanding Service from the Diocese of Toledo.
Jim was first appointed by Fr. Herr to the LCC Business Affairs Committee, served on the Foundation Committee, LCC Carnival volunteer, and was instrumental in planning and erecting the Memorial to Catholic Veterans.
Jim is married to Judy Fender Bourk and their 4 children are all Lima Central Catholic graduates.
David Wellmeier for athletic achievement
David was the 1992 Division III State Champion in Wrestling for LCC in his weight class of 145. His holds a senior record from 1991-1992 of 45-0 and a 4 year varsity career record of 139-14.
While a student at Ohio Northern University he was NCAA All-American in 1994. David earned a B.S. from Ohio Northern University in Mechanical Engineering.
He is currently the Technical Services Manager at Federal Mogul-Champion Spark Plug in Zanesville.
He is married to Cara Cottrill Wellmeier and they have 2 children.
